Gonzalo Suarez MBA, CBI
Managing Partner
With more than 10 years’ experience in acquisitions, Gonzalo has advised dozens of entrepreneurs, financial buyers and corporate clients in negotiations for the sale or purchase of privately owned companies. Corporate clients include manufacturers, distributors, service companies, importers, exporters, high-tech and professional organizations in such diverse industries as marketing, food, construction, entertainment, hospitality, health and cosmetics. Prior to his M&A career, Gonzalo experienced as an entrepreneur, the sale, purchase and merger of his own companies, where he acquired the ability to understand the challenges facing both buyers and sellers from their own perspective. This has proven an invaluable tool in managing expectations and in facilitating smooth and successful transactions. With his down-to-earth style, Gonzalo combines financial expertise, negotiation skills and an ability to foresee obstacles and find solutions to the many pitfalls typical of most acquisitions. Gonzalo earned an MBA from McGill University, CBI accreditation (Certified Business Intermediary) from the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and a Certified Value Builder by Built to Sell Inc.
Luc Provost

Art Zentner  E.MBA, CVB, MBB
Principal Consultant  
With more than 25 years of senior management, consulting, and entrepreneurial experience, Art has been on the inside of companies as a buyer or seller, either preparing businesses for sale or leading acquisition integrations.  Corporate clients include industrial and consumer products, financial services, healthcare, and retail.  Before a successful consulting career, Art spent 13 years with General Electric Company (GE) where he developed into a senior leader to head up GE businesses in positions as CFO, CIO, or CQO.  He brought this expertise into his consulting practice supporting large multinational corporations to drive Quality into their cultures.  He has also supported a number of small and medium size businesses in their restructuring and growth initiatives. .Art successfully completed GE’s prestigious Financial Management Program, considered an equivalent to an Executive MBA from GE University.  He also graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Finance with a minor in Managerial Law.  Art is a Certified Business Broker, Value Builder, and Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Javier Noriega MBA
A projects and solutions oriented professional, Javier has demonstrated the capacity to adapt to situations while developing respect and trust from both sides of a transaction. Prior to working in the financial services sector, Javier acquired sixteen years’ experience in the combustible and transport industries. In 1992 Javier established his own transport company based in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he was able to negotiate and secure the representation of TXS Lubricants from Arkansas as their exclusive Mexican Dealer in the year 2000. He was instrumental in planning and implementing the ISO 9001:2000 certification for his company in 2004. His core competencies include financial analysis, interpersonal skills, project management, logistics, supply chain management and strategic planning.Javier earned an MBA from Concordia University
Ahmad Al-Majali
With a degree in business law, Ahmad developed a network of professionals throughout Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Africa that has proven useful when dealing with foreigners interested in investing in Canada. Ahmad has founded and managed a number of service companies in which he developed expertise in marketing and sales. In addition to commercial acquisitions, Ahmad has brokered numerous real estate transactions.
Nick Slobodinuk
With more than nine years in acquisitions and in commercial real estate, Nick has always exceeded his clients’ expectations thanks to his negotiation skills, attention to details and to his passion about business growth and strategy. Nick managed to build excellent knowledge in mergers and acquisitions, marketing, consumers’ relations and business valuations before joining Mergex, where he is now an advisor in acquisitions and a consultant for business improvement. He is determined to provide his clients with the best tools to optimize business performance and attain their full potential. Nick has a bachelor in commerce with a major in management from John Molson School of Business at Concordia University.
Richard Sychterz
In the last stage of obtaining his BCom degree, with a specialization in accounting, Richard will soon embark on a Chartered Accountant designation. His previous experience includes working for the Bank of Montreal in a business development program targeted to high net-worth individuals. Richard is a highly motivated and dynamic member of the Mergex team.
Solongo Pruneaux
Solongo graduated from HEC Montréal with a trilingual bachelor of business administration, majoring in corporate finance; which brought her extensive knowledge about financial analysis. She has gained working experience with management internships in SME in France and Mongolia in the past. Her experience as a junior consultant in a program organized by Accenture gave her a taste of consultation and seeking solutions to organizations of small and medium size. Solongo is proud to work with such highly talented colleagues and to encourage entrepreneurship.
